• Always keep your passport and travel documents in a safe place. If you have to carry them around with you put them into a secure zipped pocket inside a coat if at all possible. If they are in a handbag or purse try to keep the strap over your body and not just draped on one shoulder.
• Be careful how and where you carry your money and credit cards. It is a good idea to use a money belt or an inside pocket
• Don't keep all your money, credit cards and travellers checks/cheques on you. Keep some on board, or in the hotel in the safe. It is advisable to only take a single credit card ashore and leave one or more on board.
• If you are changing money always use a bank or reputable money exchange dealer.
• Always buy tickets for travel, attractions and shows at official sales places - don't buy tickets from touts in the street (they may be forgeries and will certainly be over-priced for what they are).
