Sitka is a town on the North Pacific Coast of Alaska with 8,681 inhabitants.
Sitka was originally a key Russian port in the 1800s. It was sold to the USA through the Alaskan Land Deal in 1867. Sitka was the state capital until 1908. Today it is a popular fishing spot and tourist destination.
